technoJAM was conceived by a group of amateur technologists and licensed amateur radio operators from the North West of England. Today technoJAM is managed by the Quantum Amateur Radio & Technology Society.
Quantum is a growing group located in Ormskirk, Lancashire. We set the wheels in motion to form the organisation in October 2016 and started by launching the Quantum Code Club; a group for 9 – 16 year old youngsters to come along and learn more about technology in a safe and fun environment.
The Code Club opened its doors in January 2017 and was an immediate success with ten young folk attending regularly every couple of weeks. This has now grown to the point were we have a waiting list of people waiting to join.
In March 2017 we started the Quantum Technology Club; think of it as ‘Code Club for big boys and girls’. This ‘maker’ group caters for everyone over the age of 16 who like to dabble in a wide range of technologies. In June we enrolled our twentieth member, but we’re not a club that insists folk join – we’re open to everyone. So non-members can drop in and enjoy what we’re doing whenever they want. We’re that sort of group; really friendly and easy-going.
Why not come along to one of our meetings and start enjoying technology for yourself.
